During
the Guild's
summer
break each
year, the
members
are challenged
to create
a quilted
item based
on some
previously
unadvertised
criteria.
The
2007 Summer
Challenge was inspired
by a recent lesson in
Color Theory.
As the instructor of
the the Color Theory class,
Johnni
Schell, said, "If
you want a lesson on Color
Theory, take a look at
how our advertisers use
color on their labels
for the products that
we use everyday". So, each Guild member
was arbitrarily
given a
bag containing
a colorful label or wrapper
to inspire their Summer
Challenge quilt.
